Privacy Policy

SanskritTypist collects no data. It does not request iOS Full Access, makes no network requests, and keeps no record of anything you type. This page explains what that means in practice.

Last updated: 19 August 2026

What data does SanskritTypist collect?

None. Apple's App Privacy label for SanskritTypist reads "No data is collected by the developer from this app." There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter, no advertising identifier, no account, and no login.

Can the keyboard see what I type?

An iOS keyboard extension can only send data off your device if you grant it Full Access. SanskritTypist never asks for Full Access, so the extension runs in Apple's sandbox with no network permission at all. Even if it wanted to transmit your keystrokes, iOS would not let it.

Where does transliteration happen?

Entirely on your device. Converting raama to राम is a character-mapping operation performed locally in the keyboard extension. Nothing is uploaded, and the keyboard works normally in airplane mode or with no signal.

Does the app store my text?

No. Characters are converted and handed to whichever app you are typing in. SanskritTypist keeps no history, no clipboard log, no learned-word database and no cache of past input.

Third parties

The app contains no third-party SDKs and shares nothing with anyone. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store; the developer receives only the aggregate sales and download reports Apple provides, which do not identify individual customers.

This website

sanskrittypist.com is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or tracking scripts, and does not build a profile of visitors. Your colour-theme choice is stored in your own browser's local storage and never leaves your device. Fonts are served from this domain rather than a third-party CDN, so loading a page contacts no one but Cloudflare.

Children

SanskritTypist is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages precisely because it collects nothing. No personal information is knowingly or unknowingly gathered from anyone, of any age.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices ever change, this page will be updated and the "last updated" date above revised. Any change that involved collecting data would also be reflected in the App Privacy label on the App Store listing.
